The "PIGGY" flu

These signs are posted EVERYWHERE in the hospital. I had to snap a photo and put in my two cents....

Just a few comments on the 2009 H1N1 virus and people being sick...
(Way to go Clarian for keeping the idiots out of the hospital.)
  • If you need to be told that washing your hands is basic hygiene AND prevents the spread of germs, you are seriously dumb. What the hell did your parents teach you as a kid???
  • Sneezing happens...clearly you need to cover that shit up. This works for coughs, as well. Have some manners....and a Kleenex.
  • Excessive OR colorful mucous is a sign of INFECTION. You don't need another person's opinion on whether or not it is colorful.
  • Pigs should not be killed for this ridiculous bug.
  • If your loved one is sick, stay the hell away from them. DUH.
  • Stay home if you feel like crap or have any symptoms.

I do not understand why the hell it is impossible for people to understand THE MOST simple concept in the world. Oh...your hands are dirty? Wash them! You just sneezed into your hand? Wash the damn thing! You have a cough? Wash your friggin' hands! You just used the restroom? Novel idea...wash your goddamn hands! You touched your hair? Then wash your paw! You just had dinner? Hmmm...maybe a good hand washing is in store for you!

People have COMPLETELY overreacted over this flu. Sure, I understand it is contagious, it has killed a number of people, and that the number of infected people is growing worldwide. But really, let's not have a shit-fit people. Influenza kills thousands of people each year. The abuse of preventative drugs like Tamiflu and Relenza is only leading to more powerful and fatal viruses. A healthy human body can AND should be able to battle the flu in a day or two, without complication. But, when people start taking these drugs at the first sign of a cough or a sneeze and don't give their immune systems a chance to defend, they just add to the problem. Don't be one of these people.

The point is, I'm sick of hearing about the fucking H1N1 virus. Be smart and wash your hands. Try a probiotic such as acidophillus or try eating some yogurt to boost your immune system.

I really think the only thing good about this virus is that the hospital is regulating visitors to spouses and parents. However, it's a reminder of how ridiculous the fear of this virus is.
